Florida Fishing Reports, bass report 04/08
|
Well winter and spring are over and the spawn is wrapping up for another year. It was a long season for a mild winter but the winds made it difficult this year. When the winds were light for what time it was the Stickmarsh produced some nice fish, but because of the strong winds that we had more than not I fished Garcia Reservour mostly. This lake produces smaller bass but has good numbers.
We are comming into the next couple of weeks for a transition period for bass feeding habits. After the spawn they seem to go on a feeding frenzy of sorts and the best lure to have tide on your line is a top water plug. This by far is my favorite way to fish. Working areas adjecent to spawning areas will produce some exciting fishing up until the heat of summer kicks in. Early morning first light and last light periods of the day will be your best bet at having good fishing times. So dust off your favorite top water lures replace the old hooks with new and get ready for the fun to begin.
